PURPOSE AND MAIN TASKS
R-73E short-range and close highly maneuverable air-to-air missile.
The missile ensures hitting the air-borne targets (fighters, attack aircraft, bombers, military carrier aircraft, helicopters) day-and-night, in any directions against the earth surface background under electronic countermeasures conditions.
The missile is designed for arming the fighters, attack aircraft and combat helicopters.
