16 - 19 February 2008, Delhi (India) will host the International Exhibition of land forces and navy «DEFEXPO - 2008».
To coordinate and supervise participation of Russian defense enterprises, a Russian delegation was formed under the leadership of FSMTC of Russia Deputy Director V.K. Dzirkaln, composed of officials from state authorities of the Russian Federation, and enterprises of the military-industrial complex.
The Russian-Indian military-technical cooperation has been in existence for more than four decades, and it is an important component of the strategic partnership between our countries. It has a planned and long-term nature: India is the only country with which Russia has been implementing the Program for military-technical cooperation till 2010, covering almost all areas of cooperation between military-industrial complexes of the two states.
During visits to Moscow in October-November, 2007, by Minister of Defense of the Republic of India A. K. Antony and the Prime Minister of the Republic of India M. Singh, cooperation agreements for design and manufacture of a advanced fifth generation fighter and multi-role transport aircraft were signed. The projects should become one of the largest MTC cooperation programs of the two countries
25 domestic defense enterprises will present information about 579 MPP brands.
Small-sized elements of ammunition and sighting systems for small arms will be showcased as full-scale MPP versions.
For the first time, advertising materials about new models of Russian small arms and ammunition to earlier delivered weapons will be presented.
Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation The FSMTC of Russia views DEFEXPO INDIA– 2008 as important stage in development and strengthening of the military-technical cooperation, and associated business ties between Russia and its foreign partners, and, above all, with the countries of the Indian-Pacific region.
