7 - 11 February 2007, the International Aerospace and Defense Exhibition AERO INDIA – 2007 will be staged in Bangalore (India).
The delegation led by FSMTC of Russia Deputy Director V.K. Dzirkaln, including officials of public authorities of the Russian Federation, and Heads of military-industrial enterprises, was seconded to support a consolidated participation of Russian companies in the Exhibition.
The Russian-Indian military-technical cooperation, being an important component of strategic partnership between our countries, has been in existence for more than four decades. It has been developing within a planned and long-term framework: India is the only country with which Russia implements the Military-Technical Cooperation Program till 2010, covering almost all areas of cooperation between military-industrial complexes.
During an official visit to New Delhi, in January 2007, President of the Russian Federation V.V. Putin and the Top Leadership of Russia and India discussed issues geared at further expansion of military-technical cooperation. The Parties highlighted that the Russian-Indian joint enterprise for manufacture of BrahMos missiles which opens road for other similar joint projects vividly illustrates the use of a synergetic cooperation potential in hi-tech sectors. A critical decision on joint design and manufacture of a new multi-role transport aircraft has been reached.
This year, 44 domestic defense enterprises will present their products in the Exhibition grounds of 1300 sq. m.
Military products of Russian defense enterprises will be presented in the form of replicas, models, posters, presentation materials (aircraft, aircraft equipment, and radio-electronic systems).
For the first time in India, a prototype of a MiG-35 front-line multi-role fighter with which Russia plans to take part in the forthcoming tender under the MMRCA program will be shown.
Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation expresses hope that participation in the International Aerospace and Defense Exhibition AERO INDIA – 2007 will enable to develop and strengthen cooperation and business relationships between Russia and foreign partners in MTC, primarily, countries of the Indian-Pacific region.
