The 2nd Doha International Maritime Defense Exhibition & Conference hosted by the Royal United Services Institute for Defense and Security Studies will be held in Qatar 29-31 March 2010.

The International Exhibition DIMDEX is supported by the Emirates Maritime Defense Forces and sponsored by Deputy Supreme Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the State of Qatar, Crown Prince of Qatar, Tamim bin Khamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani.

This year, the exhibition total area will be 15,000 sq. meters, 130 exhibitors from 30 countries are expected. 20 countries will open their national pavilions, including the USA, the UK, Germany, Italy, France, and Qatar.

74 official delegations, and about 20 military ships, including from the USA, the UK, France, Italy, Australia, India, and Pakistan, are due to arrive.

Leading ship-building companies will take part in the Exhibition, such as Hyundai Heavy Industries, Samsung-Thales Corporation, Fincantieri, and the largest arms manufacturers, such as Boeing, Lockheed Martin, and Thales.

Arrival of Deputy Supreme Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the State of Qatar, Crown Prince of Qatar, Tamim bin Khamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani is expected.

The Exhibition will play host to the Conference of Commanders of Naval Forces of the Middle East countries to discuss global geopolitical anti-sea piracy issues.

Russia participates in the Exhibition for the first time according to Order of FSMTC of Russia dated 30 May 2008 № 80-od.

The area of the Russian exposition is 146 sq. meters; its organizer is the Rostekhnologii State Corporation.

FSUE Rosoboronexport and ОАО Concern Morinformsystema Agat will present 150 military-purpose exhibits, including information about naval engineering capable of adequately resisting threats of terrorism, piracy, drug trafficking, smuggling, and capture of hostages, such as a "Tiger" small patrol ship, a “Gepard-3.9” patrol ship, a "Tornado" small rocket (artillery) ship, a «Mercury» sea customs boat, "Sable", "Mongoose", "Mirage" patrol boats, “Murena” and “Zubr” hovercrafts designed to sealift landing assault units and combat materiel, a “Scorpio” gun-missile boat, a diesel-electric submarine (Project 636), a «Amur-1650» diesel-electric submarine (Project 677E), and coastal midget submarines.

A CLUB-M multi-purpose mobile coastal missile system, Club-U Modular Missile System, Club-K Container Missile System, 3R-14UKSK-X multipurpose shipboard firing system, as well as data about anti-ship and submarine missiles will be offered in the region for the first time.

Besides, information will be provided about advanced air defense systems, land forces hardware and helicopters.
