On International Military-Technical Forum "ARMY - 2017".
The International Military-Technical Forum "ARMY - 2017" (hereinafter - the Forum) is scheduled from August 22 through August 27 in the town of Kubinka in the Moscow Region. The Forum is held by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. The steering committee for preparing and holding the Forum is headed by the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, General of the Army, S.K. Shoigu. To implement the resolutions of the steering committee, an inter-department work group is established, headed by the Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, General of the Army, P. A. Popov.
The exposition will be arranged in exhibition pavilions (more than 40,000 sq. m), Patriot Congress and Exhibition Centre (more than 100,000 sq. m), visitors centers (more than 37,000 sq. m), Alabino proving ground and Kubinka airfield (more than 50,000 sq. m).
The number of the Forum's participants is growing year by year; this year there will be more than 1,000 Russian (27 military cooperation entities) and more than 75 foreign companies. The number of military use items to be presented totals to 2,500 units.
The core of the exhibition program is the materiel from resources of the Ministry of Defense of Russia and products of the military and defense entities, such as Rostec State Corporation, PJSC UAC, JSC Concern Kalashnikov, JSC USC, Concern "Almaz-Antey" Air and Space Defence Corporation JSC and Tactical Missiles Corporation JSC.
The business program of the Forum includes 140 meetings concerning major development matters in the military and technical sphere, which is an increase by one third compared to the figures of 2016.
The Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation has granted 10 licenses to different foreign companies for temporary import into the Russian Federation of military-use products from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, China, Slovakia, Turkey and South Africa, more than 400 units in total.
The management of the FSMTC of Russia will hold negotiations with international delegates from more than 20 countries and discuss, among other matters, the status and prospects of mutual military and technical cooperation.
