The Special Operations Forces Exhibition (SOFEX 2014) to be held on May 6-8, 2014 in Amman (Jordan). Since 1996, the exhibition has been held under the patronage of the King of Jordan Abdullah II.
The Exhibition features communications means, equipment for counter-terrorism operations, mine clearance equipment, equipment and machinery for rapid response force, vehicles for redeployment of personnel, equipment for military-field medicine, ground-based navigation systems.
The indoor and outdoor exhibition area will occupy 75,000 sq. meters.
More than 350 companies from 33 countries announced their participation.
The largest expositions will be presented by Jordan (85 companies), the United States of America (85 companies), the United Kingdom (25 companies), Turkey (17 companies), France (16 companies), Canada (15 companies), and Poland (14 companies).
The Russian Federation has been a long-standing participant of SOFEX since 2002. This year, the Russian exposition (84 sq. meters, organizer – State Corporation “Rostec”) will include the stands of two military-technical cooperation affiliated entities: JSC “Rosoboronexport” (Moscow) and JSC “Shvabe – defense and protection” (Novosibirsk). The total of 121 exhibits of military-purpose products (promotional materials and samples of sights) will be offered for display.
For the first time, samples of 1PN93-2 AK, 1PN93-4 SVD sights will be showcased at the Exhibition. Among the recent developments of civil-purpose products there are samples of PSU sights, as well as PN23-3, PN23-5 night sights with the function of intensity control of the image tube screen.
To represent officially the Russian Federation at the SOFEX 2014, the delegation headed by the Deputy Director of the FSMTC of Russia K.N.Biryulin was formed.
The Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation expresses hope that the Special Operations Forces Exhibition (SOFEX) will enable to strengthen business relations between Russia and its foreign partners in the military-technical sphere.
