Russia and Bulgaria signed Agreement to repair and upgrade Mi-17 and Mi-24 helicopters
9 March 2012, in the Ministry of Defence of Bulgaria, Deputy Defence Minister of Bulgaria Valentin Radev and Deputy Director of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation Mikhail Petukhov signed the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Government of the Russian Federation for repairs and upgrading of Mi-17 (Mi-8), Mi-35 (Mi-24) helicopters and their modifications in the Republic of Bulgaria.
«This Agreement is an opportunity to enhance knowledge and skills of our specialists in aircraft repairs and upgrading. In doing so, we will maintain potential of our repair factories and jobs for technical staff ", said Deputy Defence Minister of Bulgaria Radev after signing the Agreement.
The document provides for repairs and upgrading of Mi-17 (Mi-8), Mi-35 (Mi-24) helicopters and their modifications in the Republic of Bulgaria, and terms and conditions to carry out repairs and upgrading of helicopters for needs of the Bulgarian armed forces and in the interests of the third countries.
The signed Agreement provides for long-term and mutually beneficial cooperation based on mutual respect and trust in the interests of each of the Parties.
