12 - 15 April 2011, Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) will host the Latin America Aero and Defense Exhibition LAAD 2011. The exhibition has been held since 1997 under the patronage of the Defence Ministry, and the Foreign Ministry of the Republic of Brazil.
LAAD 2011 is expected to be visited by official delegations from 95 countries.
390 exhibitors from 32 states, including the United Kingdom, Germany, Israel, Russia, the United States of America, France, Belarus, etc., will occupy the area of over 47 thousand sq. metres.
China, Norway, Portugal, Singapore, Slovakia, Taiwan, and Finland will take part in the exhibition for the first time.
The business program will include the Defence Conference, and the International Symposium on military logistics.
To officially represent the Russian Federation at the exhibition, the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation formed a Russian delegation of state officials, and representatives of defence enterprises.
The State Corporation Rostekhnologii is the organizer of the Russian exposition occupying 274 sq. meters. 9 MIC affiliated entities participate in the exhibition (State Corporation Rostekhnologii, FSUE Rosoboronexport, PVO Almaz-Antey Concern OAO, Sukhoi Company ОАО, FSUE GNPP Bazalt, Rostvertol OAO, Ulan-Ude Aircraft Plant OAO, NPK Irkut OAO, Arzamassky Machine-Building Plant ОАО) providing information about more than 300 brands of military purpose products, including Su-35 multi-role super-maneuverable fighter, Su-30MK2 multi-role fighter, Yak-130 Lead-In Fighter Trainer, Ka-52 multi-role all-weather combat helicopter, Mi-35M combat transport helicopter, Mi-26 heavy transport helicopter, Mi -171Sh combat transport helicopter, S-400 Triumph ADMS, S-300 PMU-2 Favorit ADMS, etc.
A number of negotiations on military-technical cooperation is expected to be held during the exhibition.
The Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation of Russia expresses hope that the Aero and Defense Exhibition LAAD 2011 will make it possible to strengthen military and technical cooperation and associated business ties between Russia and its foreign partners, and , above all, with the Latin American and Caribbean states.
