ON CEREMONY OF AWARDING WINNERS OF ANNUAL NATIONAL PRIZE “GOLDEN IDEA”
The Annual National Prize “Golden Idea” held for the 8th time was established by the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation to encourage development and manufacture of state of the art competitive Russian arms and military hardware, and raise effectiveness of military-technical cooperation between the Russian Federation and foreign states.
Based on the competition, according to the Resolution of the Organizing Committee, the “Golden Idea” Prize is to be awarded for merits and achievements in military-technical cooperation between the Russian Federation and foreign states in the following nominations:
1. For Contribution to Development of Military Purpose Products;
2. For Successes in Manufacturing Military Purpose Products;
3. Best Co-Contractor Enterprise for contribution to raising competitiveness of military purpose products;
4. For personal contribution, initiative and diligence in support of goals of military- technical cooperation;
5. For input in outreach on military-technical cooperation, promotional and information support to export materiel; and.
6. Young Talents – for achievements in military-technical cooperation, development and manufacture of arms and military hardware:
On December 1, 2008, the Organizing Committee for the National Prize «Golden Idea» held its final meeting chaired by FSMTC of Russia Director M.A. Dmitriev. In 2008 (by the results of 2007), 80 bids were submitted for the Prize competition. Competition winners were author teams of defense enterprises presented works showing achievements in design of advanced models of competitive military-purpose products, arms and military hardware supplies to new arms markets enabling Russia to gain a status of a great power. Diplomas of FSMTC of Russia, memorable gifts, and monetary prizes will be handed over to winners.
Winners of the National Prize “Golden Idea” will be awarded by Sergey B. Ivanov, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Federation Government, and Director of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation M.A. Dmitriev. A solemn ceremony will be attended by officials of the Russian Federation President’s Administration, the Staff of the Russian Federation Government, the Military and Industrial Commission of the Russian Federation Government, federal government authorities, Heads of MTC entities, design enterprises, and manufacturers of military-purpose products, and other high-ranking officials.

A ceremony of awarding Prize winners will be held in the President Hotel on 16 December 2008 at 4.45 p.m. Registration of mass media representatives will start at 4.00 p.m.
